The Gulmohar Red is a Jadau necklace set in gold polish, in ruby red, with a matching pair of drop earrings. A stone-set collar opens into a wide, scrolling centrepiece built around a large oval ruby red stone, with a fringe of smaller medallions, pearls and ruby red bead drops falling below it.
What makes this one different
The gulmohar tree is known for its flame-red blossom, and this set is built around that one colour. Instead of mixing red and green, it keeps to ruby red, gold and white, so the piece reads rich and regal rather than busy. The weight of the design sits at the front: the sides of the collar stay slim, and the centrepiece does the talking.
The set
The necklace has slim stone-set side panels that lead to a broad, openwork centrepiece of scrolls and medallions. Each medallion holds an oval ruby red stone in a frame of small stones, and the fringe ends in pearls and ruby red beads. The necklace closes with a chain at the back.
