The Hemakirti is a Turkish gold filigree necklace set: a slim necklace of flower and teardrop links with a crescent chandbali pendant at the centre, and a matching pair of three-tier drop earrings. It is the most wearable piece in our Turkish range, elegant enough for a wedding but light enough to wear through a long festive day.
What makes this one different
Most Turkish filigree sets are wide bibs and collars. The Hemakirti is slim. It is made of individual links, alternating small filigree flowers and teardrop shapes, that follow the curve of the neck like a chain. All the drama is saved for the pendant: a crescent-moon chandbali shape in fine lattice filigree, with a teardrop hanging inside the curve and three more teardrops below it. That makes it the set to choose when you want a gold look that is graceful rather than heavy, or when your outfit is already richly worked.
What chandbali and filigree mean
A chandbali is a crescent-moon shape, from the Hindi words for moon and earring, and it is one of the most loved motifs in Indian jewellery. Filigree is fine wire twisted and shaped into open, lace-like patterns. The Hemakirti combines the two, giving the classic chandbali a light, lattice texture in the bright yellow gold that Turkish jewellery is known for.
The set
The necklace is a mid-length link necklace with a chandbali pendant at the front. It fastens at the back with an adjustable chain. The earrings are three-tier drops: a filigree teardrop top, a small flower and a larger flower, with push-back fastenings. There are no stones in this set; the whole design is in the metalwork.

Materials, stated plainly
The Hemakirti is made with a brass base metal with filigree work, finished in a bright gold polish. It is not real gold. It is premium fashion jewellery, priced accordingly, so you can wear a classic gold look all season without the cost or the worry.
Where and how to wear it
This is a festive and wedding piece that also works for smaller occasions. It is lovely for Diwali, Karva Chauth, Navratri, Teej, Raksha Bandhan, a family puja, a haldi or mehendi, and as a wedding guest at day functions. It pairs well with silk and cotton-silk sarees, kurta sets, anarkalis, shararas and light lehengas.
Because it is slim and has a pendant, it is more flexible with necklines than our wider sets. It suits V, sweetheart, round, square and boat necklines, and it can sit over a heavily worked blouse without competing with it. With a high neck, wear it over the top of the neckline so the pendant hangs on the fabric. It looks beautiful against red, maroon, mustard, yellow, green, pink, royal blue and ivory.
