The Chambal is a Jadau temple necklace set in gold polish with a matching pair of chandbali-style earrings. A Goddess Lakshmi pendant sits at its centre, set into a Jadau-style collar of ruby pink and green coloured stones, American Diamonds, green crystal beads and pearls.
What makes this one different
Most temple sets are all gold, with the deity doing the talking. The Chambal brings two traditions together. The Lakshmi motif and the bead-and-pearl fringe come from temple jewellery; the dense setting of ruby pink, green and white stones across the collar comes from Jadau work. So it reads rich and colourful from across a room, and devotional up close.
The set
The necklace is a structured collar that opens into a large pendant: a paisley-shaped centre framed by stones, a fringe of green crystal beads and pearls, and a second Lakshmi drop hanging below it. It closes with a chain at the back. The earrings repeat the Lakshmi motif inside a crescent of stones, finish in green crystal beads and pearls, and fasten with push-backs.

Materials, stated plainly
The Chambal is fashion jewellery. The base is brass with a gold polish. The red and green stones are coloured stones in ruby pink and green shades, not rubies or emeralds. The white stones are American Diamond, not real diamond. The round green drops are crystal beads, and the small white beads are pearls.
Where and how to wear it
This is a statement set, made for weddings, pujas and festive functions where you want the jewellery to carry the look. It sits beautifully on a Kanjivaram or Banarasi silk saree, and on a maroon, red, ivory or gold outfit, where the green beads and pearls stand out. Choose a round, sweetheart or deep neckline so the collar and pendant have room; a high or heavily worked neckline will hide the best part of it. With a set this full, keep the rest simple: bangles, and no second necklace.

Frequently asked questions
What is included in the Chambal necklace set?
One necklace and one pair of matching earrings.
Is the Chambal temple jewellery or Jadau jewellery?
Both. The Lakshmi pendant and the bead-and-pearl fringe follow temple jewellery, and the stone-set collar follows Jadau work.
What is the motif on the pendant and earrings?
Goddess Lakshmi, on the main pendant, on the lower drop and inside each earring.
Is the Chambal made of real gold?
No. It is brass with a gold polish. It gives the look of gold temple jewellery without the cost of gold.
Are the red and green stones real rubies and emeralds?
No. They are coloured stones in ruby pink and green shades.
Are the white stones real diamonds?
No. They are American Diamond stones.
What are the green beads and the white beads?
The round green drops are crystal beads and the small white beads are pearls.
How does the necklace close?
With a chain at the back.
What kind of earrings come with it?
Chandbali-style earrings with the Lakshmi motif, green crystal bead and pearl drops, and push-back fastenings.
Is the Chambal a heavy, statement set?
It is a statement set: a full collar, a large pendant and a second drop below it. It is made to be the main piece of the look.
What saree or outfit should I wear with the Chambal?
A Kanjivaram or Banarasi silk saree, or a lehenga in maroon, red, ivory or gold. The green beads lift a red or maroon outfit especially well.
Which neckline suits it best?
A round, sweetheart or deep neckline. Avoid a high or heavily embroidered neckline, which will cover the collar.
Is the Chambal suitable for a wedding or a puja?
Yes. With the Lakshmi motif it suits pujas, Diwali and Varalakshmi Vratham as well as weddings and receptions.
Can a bride wear the Chambal?
Yes, as one of her sets for a function, or for the mother or sister of the bride who wants a traditional, colourful look.
